Joshua Boggs

Conductor

Joshua Boggs is Assistant Professor of Choral and Vocal Studies at Emory & Henry College in Emory, Virginia, and Founding Artistic Director of AppOpera. He is most interested in the scholarship and performance of early and new music, and maintains an active profile as a countertenor. Boggs’ dissertation focuses on Craig Hella Johnson’s oratorio Considering Matthew Shepard, and in 2019 he led an interdisciplinary performance of the work. He recently completed the DMA in Choral Conducting at the University of Notre Dame, studying with Carmen-Helena Téllez.

Joshua Boggs is a conductor in the 2022 TMC Choral Conductors’ Symposium and will conduct the full TMC and the Professional Core ensemble in the concluding Symposium concert on June 28, 2022.
