André Feria is an ethnomusicologist and music educator with extensive experience in both performance and arts administration. He holds a Master of Arts in Ethnomusicology from Memorial University of Newfoundland and degrees in Music Education and Creative and Performing Musical Arts from the University of the Philippines Diliman. As both a scholar and practitioner, he is passionate about bridging academic research with community music-making. His work has explored Filipino diasporic soundscapes, kulintang traditions, and inclusive approaches to music education.
Beyond his academic and production work, André has extensive experience as a conductor, educator, and performer. He has served as the choirmaster of the Junior Music Educators’ Guild Chorale, directed choirs in the Philippines, and continues to engage in collaborative projects that highlight diverse musical traditions. He is also deeply engaged in library and archival work, drawing on his experience as a research assistant at the UP Center for Ethnomusicology.
