This year was a landmark season celebrating 130 years of choral excellence and collaboration. From Beethoven’s Missa solemnis to the world premieres from our Composer-in-Residence Aaron Manswell’s newest work, every performance honoured our legacy while championing the future of Canadian choral music. We ended this milestone season with Duruflé’s Requiem and new works in a moving community concert that captured the heart of TMChoir: bold artistry, deep community roots, and an unwavering belief in the power of voices raised together.

Artistic Highlights
From the immersion of Visionaries: Vivaldi & DaVinci to the grandeur of Missa solemnis, this season pushed the boundaries of what choral music can express. Under the bold leadership of Artistic Director Jean-Sébastien Vallée, our singers embraced a rich, diverse repertoire — and delivered performances that were both musically exquisite and emotionally resonant.
This season’s Composer-in-Residence, Aaron Manswell—whose “work shines” (Ludwig van Toronto)—brought bold new energy to the Canadian choral landscape. Our continued collaboration with the Toronto Symphony Orchestra shared TMChoir’s signature sound with thousands through unforgettable performances of Handel’s Messiah, Mozart’s Requiem, and Bartók’s The Miraculous Mandarin.
Education & Community
As a choral organization—not just a choir—education and community engagement remain central to our mission.
We launched our inaugural Conducting Mentoring Program, welcoming emerging conductors for immersive intensives that embedded them directly into our rehearsal and performance process. We expanded our professional development platform, Exchange, with nine facilitators representing the vibrancy of Canada’s choral community. We also welcomed over 400 community members to sing and grow their skills through four joyful iterations of Singsation.
Whether on stage or in shared learning spaces, we continue to be a hub for connection, growth, and the future of the choral arts.
What’s Next?
We’re proud—but not standing still. The summer months can be the most financially difficult for organizations like ours. With no ticket income, this is when we finalize next season’s programming and make critical decisions about artist contracts, commissions, and community partnerships.
If this season moved you, challenged you, or stayed with you long after the final note—please consider a gift before our fiscal year ends.
