Based in the United States, Shohei Kobayashi is Director of Choral Studies and Assistant Professor of Music at Reed College in Portland, Oregon and serves as Co-Artistic Advisor and Associate Conductor for Resonance Ensemble. Kobayashi is an active guest conductor and has enjoyed recent appearances with Portland Symphonic Choir, Resonance Ensemble, and First Presbyterian Church of Portland on repertoire ranging from the requiems of Duruflé and Mozart to newly commissioned choral works. Shohei is also Associate Director for the Choral Conducting Institute and Assistant Conductor for the Adult Choir Camp at Interlochen College of Creative Arts and is a board member of the National Collegiate Choral Organization.
