Pierre-Henri Dutron

Pierre-Henri Dutron came to composition from the stage, and to Mozart from the manuscript.
A baroque violinist by training, he opened Mozart’s autograph score in 2011 and set aside
every completion written since.

His version of the Requiem was premiered at the Philharmonie de Paris in 2016 under René
Jacobs, and recorded for Harmonia Mundi. It has since been performed more than sixty times
across Europe, most recently by Sakari Oramo and the BBC Symphony Orchestra.

His own music includes a Mass in A minor, first performed in 2024. He is at work on a violin
concerto, and on a second version of the Requiem that leaves Süßmayr behind entirely.
