Jean-Sébastien Vallée Receives the Prestigious Distinguished Alumnus Award from Université Laval

The Toronto Mendelssohn Choir is proud to celebrate a remarkable honour for its Artistic Director. Jean-Sébastien Vallée has been named a 2025 Grand diplômé by his alma mater, Université Laval, where he completed his Bachelor of Music in 2002. This prestigious award, established in 1952, has been presented to a wide range of influential figures over the years, including former Quebec Premier Jean Lesage and former Prime Minister Brian Mulroney.

In the field of music, Vallée joins the distinguished company of acclaimed artists such as baritone Jean-François Lapointe and conductor Bernard Labadie. The award celebrates individuals who demonstrate innovation, creativity, talent, and exceptional leadership—qualities they apply in service of extraordinary achievements.

Each year, Université Laval recognizes the excellence of its alumni as part of Les Remarquables, an initiative that highlights graduates whose remarkable careers and community engagement are shaping the world of tomorrow.
