TMC announces webcasts for the 2016/17 season

The Toronto Mendelssohn Choir will webcast three of its concerts internationally this season. Webcasts are an important part of the TMC’s outreach initiatives and over the past four seasons have brought great choral music concerts to thousands of people locally, across Canada and internationally.

The TMC will webcast three concerts from Yorkminster Park Baptist Church. TMC webcasts use five cameras to provide online audiences with interesting views of the performers and the conductor.

TMC webcast history

The TMC began webcasting select concerts in 2012 and has grown this initiative over the past four seasons.  TMC’s 2015-16 webcasts were broadcast on Livestream which also enabled viewers to access these concerts after the performance. The 2015-16 season webcasts received over 20,000 views from across the globe. And patrons commented on the impact of these performances:

“What a treat! Thank you for sharing. I am watching in the far NW of British Columbia where we don’t have these types of performances. They permit me to connect to the bigger world and especially Choral music.”

From a webcast patron who watched the Festival of Carols 2015 concert.
